Details:
On the brink of something new and exciting, and for the music lover or casual listener who's looking for something a little bit different, moody and heartfelt, but still accessible....

Message from Tim, March, 2005:

Hey, I'd love to count you as another supporter and fan. If you're looking for some no frills lo-fi edgy acoustical alt.rock, then take a listen, and take one home! And if you wanna be an even bigger supporter of independent music, buy several copies and tell your friends to do the same. Read below for the "back-story" and little bit about the new indie rock band I'm putting together in San Francisco--we're going into the studio very soon, and still looking for any financial help we can get, big and small. Thanks for checking this out!

Cheers,
Tim Sloat

PS-wherever you live, support your local music scene, it's all about connecting with you!

The Story:

Tim Sloat jumped into the singer/songwriter/coffeehouse world in late 2001 with his "AkustikPLUS" material while finishing his undergraduate studies in Berkley California. He released this full length album a month before graduating in the spring of 2002, some how finding the time to write, record, and mix 12 tracks of original music at odd hours between classes and projects.

"Waiting for Something" has a low-fi home grown quality, a strong sense of intimacy both sonically and as the lyrics spill out in spurts of compassion and confession, fear and love, frustration and hope.... Tim admits his Christian faith affects his music, but he tries to connect mostly with the average young adult and student wandering the streets of America and beyond--as we all face disappointments and treasure good moments.

Putting "AkustikPLUS: Waiting for Something" in your CD player is like sitting down for an hour of thoughtful conversation that lets you way into Tim's mind, yet the music doesn't wear you out--It is engaging whether carefully listened to or simply enjoyed in the background of your busy life.

"Waiting for Something" Indeed....

Tim Sloat dropped out of the coffeehouse scene in mid 2003 to begin constructing a an indie alt rock band. What ensued was MEMOIR, a guitars/vox & drums duo. Like a stripped down pixies or cold play covering nirvana songs, MEMOIR launches into the alternative genere but reaches for new sounds. The band has been playing around the San Francisco Bay area since early 2005, hitting famous and infamous clubs like the Hotel Utah, Thee Parkside, KIMO'S, the Tongue & Groove, and other East bay venues like the Stork Club. An EP is scheduled for release in late summer and the band plans on touring LA/SanDiego as well as Seattle/Portland soon after.
