Ally Mackenzie...
Ally has played accordion in numerous folk and ceilidh bands and in junior and senior pipe bands as a snare drummer. He has travelled extensively playing with many different musicians (Finlay MacDonald, Fergie MacDonald, Dodgy Ground) to places as far flung as France, Barbados and the Reunion Island. He does a lot of teaching work, notably at various feisean across Scotland and, just to be different, at a two week long course in Antofagasta, Chile!

Colin Melville...
Learning the pipes from the age of seven, Colin played in many junior piping competitions across Scotland, in the Lochaber Schools Pipe Band and various folk and ceilidh bands in the Fort William area. In 1996 he moved to Edinburgh where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. In 2000 he joined the world-renowned band The Tannahill Weavers and has since toured extensively with them across Europe and North America.

Ally and Colin have been playing together for many years. Fits oâ Giggles is their debut duet recording. The album incorporates a diverse compendium of both traditional and contemporary tunes. Some notable examples include tunes composed by Ally, Colin and some of their friends, which have never before been recorded. One highlight of the album is an original vocal track written and performed by Sandra MacBeath who along with Ally and Colin form the band Spagnum Moss.
