Jazz Guitar is a re-release of Whirlybird, recorded for another label. The music is the same, released under Bennett's Baton Records label.
With Joe Labarbara on drums and Dave Carpenter on bass, this is a guitar trio ranging from standards reworked to reflect an original approach shedding new light on these tunes( Body and Soul, Alice in Wonderland, Old Folks and 2 blues by John Coltrane, Mr. Syms and Cousin Mary).
The other 1/2 of the CD is original material. A bebop/ mainstream jazz recording. This one gained national airplay widely and is still heard on mainstream Jazz stations.
