Clay J. Wilson A.K.A. Blue Murphy was born in Manhattan, New York. He was raised in the Bronx and currently living in Rockland County. He has always had a love for music; at a young age his brother and him started rapping and DJing. They progressed and formed their own group named, Foyea. Fusing Hip-Hop and Rock music with rhymes over them, they were before there time with the flow of music. Within a few years, Blue and his brother joined different rap groups, his group was called Rhythm and Poetry. They then performed at places like Sweetwaters, Club 2000, and putting on talent shows in the Bronx area. The group performed so well in clubs that it caught the attention of Sugar Dice and A&R at Motown Records but things did not go as planned, life went on.

As time went on Blue Murphy had grown bored with rap music and wanted to branch out. He took up the drums and percussion at his High School (John F. Kennedy High school). Becoming very good, he joined his high school band. A few months after that he joined his first Speed-Metal Rock band. Throughout the years he would pick up other instruments and start producing music. Making music had began to take hold of him so he went on to attend College (The New School of Social Research) to learn how to read and write music. Within a couple of years he decided it was time to start his own independent recording label which became known as CLAYTONQUEST RECORDS and Blue Murphy Music Publishing. CLAYTONQUEST RECORDS and company raised money for research and AIDS awareness that took place on May 16th, 2004 at the AIDSWALK in New York City.

Blue Murphy then released his first EP (Extended Play), in July of 2004, which was "The Blue Murphy Show" . The theme of the record was based on persons that he had met during the club scenes in New York City in the 90's. The record was picked up by TOWER RECORDS in Rockland County and in New Jersey. Both stores in total sold more than 60 copies and is still currently being carried and sold. He also had sold from the trunk of his car more than 40 copies in the first week that the record came out. AJ a TV personality with his own show 106 and Park had got a hold of The Blue Murphy Show. Recommending it to Bill Rickett of RICKETTS RECORDS which has his own record pool which distributes new music to DJs to play in clubs. Bill Rickett was pleased with the CD and contacted Blue Murphy with a request of 80 copies for distribution. The response from clubs such as MASONIC TEMPLE, ICE LOUNGE, HIP HOP CAFÉ, CULTURE CLUB, WRECK ROOM, TRIBECCA, HUSTLER, PLATINUM, LACE, etc was very good.

So far, CLAYTONQUEST RECORDS has picked up an additional act (rap) by the name of Drenz which hit TOWER RECORDS in JANUARY 2006 and Blue Murphys second CD, which is called MAGENS BAY, will release later in 2006.
