A classical guitar album, inspired by a nylon-stringed guitar bought in Costa Rica. Cello, violin, and Spanish vocals highlight several tracks.

Eric Marx's 1st full-length CD is a collection of songs connected in part to the ocean. It takes more than two minutes into the first title track of "Pura Vida" for a guitar to appear. Instead, a distant violin and the sounds of rushing water introduce a tightly composed collection of songs showcasing Marx's guitar virtuosity engaged in an earnest conversation. The result is a soothing solo CD that acheives the distinction of making it not about the solo artist but about his collaboration with a group of talented guest musicians, including Hilary Harlaub on violin, Nate Blaser on cello, vocalists Iani Moreno and sound engineer Steve Rizzo on second guitar.

The CD was recorded and mastered at the famed Stable Sound Studios in Portsmouth, RI, with Steve Rizzo behind the board. Steve has worked with a vast array of local and nationinal recording artists, including Kristen Hirsch, Belly, Duke Robillard, and Andrew Nicolleta, and, is a phenomenally talented musician and vocalist in his own right!

Early feedback on the disc has been extremely positive and a second project is already underway featuring many of the same musicians. If you are looking for a CD to soothe the soul, this might just be it!
