Hank had his share of struggles and challenges in pursuit to his goal in country music and his perseverance paid off when his first album titled âHonky Tonk Heartache Bluesâ won the highly coveted âBest Country Albumâ of the year award at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards in Toronto, Saturday, November 25, 2005.

On November 3, 2006 at the MTS Centre, Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, Hank once again proved too his fans that voted for him, that he is the true spirit of country music. Hank took home second most trophies, winning two (2) awards. He won for âBest Country CDâ and âBest Songwriterâ.

More than 5,000 people from around the world voted online to nominate and choose their favorite artist. The awards were handed out in front of a crowd of more than 3,000 people at the Winnipeg MTS Centre, during a classy and impressive nationally televised awards ceremony. Thanks to all the fans that voted across Canada and elsewhere in the world.

Hank Horton & Wildwood Country consist of five (5) musicians whose high performances are known for packing clubs in their home town of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Hankâs whose original music is described as traditional country is blended with a Nashville flavor.

Award winner singer/songwriter and performer who is well known for his playful stage presence and staggering songwriting skills. He formed his locally acclaimed band known as âWildwood Countryâ. Hank began to pursue his solo career full time and effortlessly after he assembled a powerful band to back him on stage. However, no matter what the mood, Hank will always be seen wearing a smile, a born entertainer. Hankâs personable demeanor on and off stage has long been a trademark of his music, and he has therefore, created a loyal fan base that he refers to as his friends instead of his fans, therefore, it is no surprise that his town of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, loves his music. Fans across Canada and around the globe love his music. When asked why people love his music and the answer we get from Hank is that âI strive to connect personally with the audience by performing in front of the fans and making them happyâ.

A BRIEF STORY OF HANK HORTON

Singer/Songwriter âHank Hortonâ was born and raised in a small Northern Community of Duck Bay, Manitoba, Canada, and at age eight (8) became fascinated with country music and country music became an integral part of his life. He has since evolved into a very inspirational artist and possesses the qualities of becoming a strong influence in the Country Music Industry. Hankâs life is so intertwined with his music that he distills a unique style that blends pure country with pure emotion. He penned and recorded twenty (20) original heartfelt songs that reminiscent of love, heartaches, happiness and the struggles in everyday life. Yes, Hank had his share of struggles and challenges in pursuit to his goal in country music and his perseverance paid off when his latest album titled âHonky Tonk Heartache Bluesâ won him the highly coveted âBest Country Albumâ of the year award at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards in Toronto, Saturday, November 25, 2005. Hank is the true spirit of country music and his unique voice is a simble of todayâs traditional country music. Hankâs first release hit the charts in March 2004 with a song he wrote about his girlfriend titled âIâve Told You Leonaâ. With success came increased creative freedom and with Hankâs mainstream songwriting and recording efforts continue to do extremely well. Another album titled âA World Of Many Heartachesâ will be released January 1, 2007 to the general public and for radio airplay. He has since appeared and has been interviewed by the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN), Native Communication Incorporated (NCI) 105.5 FM, University of Winnipeg CKUM 95.9 FM, CFRY 920 AM 93.1 FM, and numerous other radio stations throughout Manitoba. As a songwriter, Hank brings a fresh and unique perspective into country music be paying attention to his fans, and then focusing his writing efforts at what the fans want to hear and adds his own personal experiences. Hankâs primary influences are Country Music Legends, Hank Williams Sr., George Jones, Ray Price, Buck Owens, Red Sovine, Bill Anderson and Stonewall Jackson, just to name a few. Hank brings his unique and modern perspective into his music in a Nashville country style. The true spirit of Country Music lives in the heart of Hank Horton. Yes, he is unique in every part of the word, confident and yes, the best is yet to come.
