This is one of those magical recording sessions, that, when it was over, all we could say was WOW.

4 MP3 Songs
BLUES: Rockin' Blues, BLUES: Blues Vocals

Details:
It was nine o'clock on a Saturday morning in Dobson, NC. Zeke's Music World was the gathering place for some of the top musicians in this area, WILL JARRELL being the best of the best blues players, and we were in for a treat, I could feel it in the air.

MIKE CORDER, of MAYBERRY BLUES FAME, told Larry that the original drummer couldn't make it, but that he brought along his wife Mo's cousin, CHARLES DOCKERY, a veteran drummer all around the foothills of NC.

JIMMY CORDER was on the keyboard, and the guys set up before nine thirty, everybody took their place, and tuned up, for sure.

The sweet sound of blues came floating through the studio, as the engineer John Williams finished his setup, and Larry took his place at the microphone. THE VIBES WERE THERE IMMEDIATELY.

As each song was created, it makes me smile to think back on the morning.

Larry had incredible musicians backing him up, the magic act he needed to present himself as LARRY FREE, lookin' for that boxcar door to be open, I'm gonna ride! He runs into Grumblin BoBo, on the way, "Old Grumblin' BoBo, he had nothin' good to say, and I said, "BoBo, get your life together."

I could think of nothing but DOWNLOAD, and with the IPod craze, could picture all these people, young and old, with a smile on their face, a boogie in their step, singing along and laughing in the appropriate places. It's just great, LARRY FREE!

MONDAY BLUES, PACKINâ MY SUITCASE, AND BE COOL round out the successful session, and we encourage you to download them all.

I asked the keyboard player, Jimmy, what he thought of the CD sampler, and he simply stated, âIâve only played it a thousand times!â

Thatâs a pretty good recommendation! Try it, youâll like it!
