As a young girl from the south, Michelle Lang was heavily influenced by the colorful and electic performances of The Commodores, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder and the like. As a young lady, musical/improv theater and '90s hip hop took centerstage and thus the heart of Michelle Lang and Still Water was born.

The name Still Water refers to the variety of ways a story can be told. The Still Water Philosophy says, "...don't just talk the gospel...sing it, dance it... Paint Pictures with it ! " MLSW is also a notable force in the area of Urban Praise & Worship. With a trained focus, MLSW engages audiences with standard tunes and new original songs without missing an inspirational beat.
