After several stints fronting the Boston bands the Down Staircase and Limbo Souls, Peter Lavender returns with his first solo effort Back to Normal. An eclectic mix of nine beautifully crafted songs, the CD chimes with a passion and sincerity reminiscent of the confessional songwriting of the early 70âs. Each song pays tribute to the eternally brokenhearted, yet, somehow manages to come off feeling much more hopeful than somber. The tuneful melodies provide a déjà vu-like feeling and the achingly honest lyrics will remind us all just how much we should be willing to remember and how much more we should be willing to forget.
