This cd features melodic and catchy songs that are mostly pop, and adult contemporary. All written by Ray. See why this cd is his personal favorite?
12 MP3 Songs
POP: Beatles-pop, EASY LISTENING: Soft Rock
Details:
This is a first for Ray, in that not only has he written and sang all the songs as usual, but he also played (except for the drums), recorded, mixed, and produced it all. It is his own personal favorite cd, but what makes it very special to him however, is that the drum tracks all were played so superbly by his son, Raymond M. Lani. Plus the front and back cover photos were also taken by his son, which just so happens to be the beautiful view from his sonâs home.
This cd has a bit of a "live" sound to it, and so not "perfect" from a musical or technical point of view, in that it was not recorded with studio musicians in a true "studio" enviroment, as Ray's other cd's were done, but recorded at Ray's "home studio", with Ray and his son just "having some fun, and doing it all". A bit of a compromise, but still well worth it.
The songs are mostly pop and adult contemporary, with some country/rock and blues mixed in. They are very melodic and give us a hint of âBeatlesâ, which canât be all that bad, right?
This self released cd by Ray, has already been picked up by Morrhythm Records, for a re-mastering and re-release of it, with some slight changes and a new name, which will be entitled, âThe Lakeâ. It will be released in early 2007, as well as 2 other previously self released cds of Rayâs.
Many of these songs have already placed high in âThe Song Of The Yearâ contest, and Ray hopes that they will receive much radio play, as is with his other cd releases?
A top five finalist in the Song Of The Year Contest, âNot A Day Goes Byâ, is a song as his son likes to call it, âgitchyâ.
âItâs All In The Eyesâ is a âbouncy, jazzyâ song, that is very catchy and with great lyrics.
âItâs Just Lifeâ is that âBeatleyâ type of rock/pop song, that also has meaningful lyrics, as do many of Rayâs songs.
Very special to Ray are âPreciousâ and âThe Child Withinâ, and one listen will tell you why.
âThe Lakeâ is a beautiful ballad written about the lake on the cover photos.
For country lovers there is, âItâs A Way Of Lifeâ, a country/rockabilly up-tempo song about life, and the country/rocker, âNames On The Headstones, Faces On The Wallâ.
And for blues fans, there is âThe Same Ole Sunâ, which also can be a âteachingâ song for children. Listen and see why?
For Ray's most requested song at live performances, check out the "unplugged" version of "Just A Hug".
Look for Rayâs other cds, plus the 3 upcoming Morrhythm Records releases at OutstandingMusic.com also.
Also in the plans, is for a Christian/rock cd of mostly all new songs by Ray, also to be released on Morrhythm Records, for possibly 2008?
So enjoy and stay tuned for more cds from Ray.
