Details:
The Rustles, formerly known as DJ Russel, started making music in 2002 when Joe Nolan (guitar, vocals), TJ Pederson (guitar, vocals) and James Farley (drums, percussion) decided to form a band in their sophomore year of high school. During this time The Rustles recorded an eight track EP entitled âHotcha!â The next year The Rustles went back into the studio and recorded their sophomore album, âGarlic Knots & Robots." The group played many shows to promote the album. The next year the group recorded their final high school album, self titled (at the time), DJ Russel. The album led to many more shows in and around their surrounding community. In 2004 the three Rustles went into hiding only to surprise everyone, emerging over two years later with a new rocking album and a new name. The Rustles invite you to enjoy their latest thirteen tracker, âAs You Drift.â
The Rustles have been compared to artists such as Dispatch, Jack Johnson, The Beatles, and Guster. Their music, categorized as Pop/Rock/Acoustic, appeals to a variety of listeners. The trio is unsigned. All three Rustles are from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, enjoy BBQâs, and can dance. Sometimes The Rustles may startle you at night, but donât be alarmed, itâs usually just the wind.
