Out of the cornfield of Illinois and into the listenerâs ear comes the rock of Slingshot57. This band that was formed in the dorm rooms of Lincoln Christian College in November of 1999 has been committed to building relationships with people of all ages since day one. Since that time, Slingshot57 has gone through many changesâ but the bands vision has remained the same. Joining lead singer Benjamin Woods are guitarists Neill Nation and Nash Bruceâ bass player Paul Stewartâ and drummer Daniel Bishop.

From the very start of Slingshot57â the band has been all about the fans and continuing to build that loyal fan base throughout the country. They traveled in the summer of 2000 as the house band for Lincoln Christian College, playing rock shows at eight summer campsâ building a solid and loyal fan base. Since that timeâ Slingshot57 on average plays over 150 shows a year. They have received heavy national radio airplayâ performed and toured with several major label actsâ and been aired on three consecutive seasons of MTVâs âThe Real World.â Their most recent projectâ an EP self entitled âSlingshot57â was released independently on December 1â 2004 and can only be purchased at shows and online and has already sold almost 5000 units to date. The bands 2 previous releases âStay the Courseâ and âFive Smooth Stonesâ independently sold almost 5000 units each as well. Slingshot57 travels nationally playing festivalsâ State Fairsâ teen conventions and Conferences and everything from bars to churchesâ parties to high school auditoriums. Slingshot57 believes the best part of being a band has been watching fans turn into friends through the relationships they have built through the years.
