Details:
Steve's been a songwriter for over 30 years. His musical influences are wide ranging, from Woody Guthrie to Rodgers and Hammerstein, and include the Beatles, Randy Newman, James Taylor, Guy Clark, Joni Mitchell, Robbie Robertson, Harry Nilsson and Paul Simon. Likewise his writing credits are numerous and varied. He co-wrote "Songbird" for Barbra Streisand, and he's had his songs covered by Dusty Springfield, Lynn Anderson, O.C. Smith, Samantha Sang, Paul Anka, and many other artists. Most recently he co-wrote two songs with master writer/artist, Guy Clark, that appear on his new album, "The Dark".
Along the way, Steve also penned "Pooh Bear"--the theme song for the Emmy Award winning, Disney animated television series, "The New Adventures Of Winnie-the-Pooh", for which he also co-wrote the underscore. He has also written songs for "Groundling Marsh", a popular Canadian children's show, as well as the theme song for Disney's "Darkwing Duck". In 1996, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on "Sesame Street". He was the composer for numerous television sitcoms including "Webster", "Good Grief" and "Star Of The Family", and contributed music to "Family Ties", "Cheers" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air". His songs have appeared in numerous feature films including "Brubaker" and "The Last Resort".
Most recently, he has completed his new CD, "Listen What The Katmandu", produced by Grammy Award Winning writer, artist and producer, Don Henry.
