Electric Junkyard Gamelan performs original music on invented instruments. Drawing inspiration from traditional Indonesean Gamelan, Electric Junkyard Gamelan combines complex rhythmic patterns with soaring melodic lines all filtered through the unique voice of composer Terry Dame. Performing on invented instruments such as the Rubarp (a electric rubber band harp), the Sitello (an electric cello/sitar combo), the Terraphone ( a copper pipe reed horn), tuned glasses, a four octave clay pot "marimba", the filter drum and an arsenal of percussion instruments fashioned from truck springs, turntable platters, metal coffee filters, hubcaps pots and pans they define a new genre of metal music.
