November 27th sees the release of Celtic Legendsâ latest recording, a four track EP called âThe Boatmanâ A collection of songs which have been heavily featured on the Classic FM TV channel in the UK.
The Boatman has recently enjoyed its first screening on the channel, and has been placed in the âmost wantedâ category alongside world famous Divas Katherine Jenkins and Enya . The Boatman was originally an instrumental composed by Celtic Legend founder Chris Payne for the forthcoming CD album âLyonesseâ set for release in spring 2007. Emily Ovenden the Lyricist and main vocalist of Celtic Legend heard the piece and transformed it into a song with producer Pepper doing the arrangement.
The song creates a wonderful atmosphere, taking the listener to a tranquil place with its medatitive sound, and it was this foundation which inspired the beautiful 'pre raphaelite' looking video directed by Jai Michael for Coverdrive Productions.

Celtic Legend are a group of composers, writers, musicians and film makers who were formed in 2001 by Cornish born composer Chris Payne with producer Nigel Bates. The idea behind the project is to recreate the ancient dark age legends from Cornwall through recordings and videos.
Their first recording, the classic tale of âTristan and Isoldeâ took two years to produce and features many well known artists including singer Gwenno Saunders.
In August 2005 Emily Ovenden a Cornish singer with the group âMediaeval Baebesâ took over the role of principle vocalist and has featured on the three subsequent Celtic Legend videos; Song of Tomorrow, The Boatman and Soldier Boy.
Celtic Legend are currently working on there second album, another Cornish legend entitled âLyonesseâ which is scheduled for release in Spring 2007.
