Details:
The Grand Circus saga begins in 1990, when Jason Cardasis, Mike Sheehan and Jason Wyse formed a trio they called White Zone, which combined straightforward rock cover tunes with high-energy original instrumental epics. When Dave Abhold sat in on drums later that year they all saw the potential power of the lineup. The rest of the 90âs involved playing with various local groups, writing original songs, and those minor details, education and careers. In 2001, lightning struck twice as all four guys again found the common desire to make a mark in the musical history books. Wiser and more experienced, Dave, Jason, Mike and Jason formed Grand Circus to bring back the sounds weâve all been looking for.

The local press had this to say about their 2003 debut CD...

"From the opening guitar scream, you know where Grand Circus is coming from â loud-and-proud heavy metal. Guitarist Jason Cardasisâ admiration for Eddie Van Halen is all over this album. In "Foxy (In G)" the guitar is allowed to open up and chew up the scenery. There are songs about relationships. His girl has gone "Lilith Fair" on him in "Heisman Maneuver" â she falling for another woman. Switching to a bright acoustic guitar sound, "Blue 14" finds him in a good relationship but she is not "The One." "Lapdance" opens with a funky bass solo followed by a rippinâ lead guitar solo as they sing about hanging out at strip clubs but not caring for the vacant stares, drug culture or the sex-obsessed life of the dancers. In "Heaven ainât for Me," Grand Circus sees religion as full of bigotry and hate. "Slowly Twisting" shows the softer side of Grand Circus, facing the biting cold wind of reality, asking what does he have in mind with that shotgun at his side?" [Jam Rag, 9-2003]
