Original contemporary gospel songs written for cross-cultural worship.
11 MP3 Songs
GOSPEL: Contemporary Gospel, JAZZ: Jazz Vocals
Details:
James Ward is a veteran Christian recording artist with 11 previous albums to his credit. But he has also been a dedicated member of a local church in Chattanooga, Tennessee where African-American and Caucasian worshippers have been working out cross-cultural worship for 30 years.
The church is called New City Fellowship.
Ward says, "One of my joys as a music director in the local church is to craft Christmas and Easter music for the choirs. The depth of Godâs Word became an important resource for these anthems, some of which are presented on this CD. This recording represents a difficult mission for us at New City Fellowship in Chattanooga. These songs reach across cultural lines, not denying that a white guy wrote them, but reflecting the constant interpretation of the African American worship music we choose to prioritize in our services."
