i grew up listening to AM radio. anybody remember that? radio played everything from the Beatles, Byrds, Elvis, Dylan, the Four Tops, Sinatra, Roger Milller and other diverse forms of music. all that had a HUGE influence on me. i began as a teenager playing guitar, joining bands and all that evolved into writing songs. country captured my ear thanks to the Byrds, Poco & Flying Burrito Brothers. that led me to Hank Williams, George Jones, Dolly Parton, Buck Owens & Merle Haggard. growing up in kentucky Bluegrass also had a major influence, thanks to J.D. Crowe & The New South, Tony Rice, Ricky Skaggs & Jerry Douglas. with some encouragement i moved to nashville as a writer and met a young guy who moved to town to be an recording artist but was cleaning churches & selling boots. his name was Garth Brooks. we started writing songs together and our 1st number song was 'IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES". we continue our friendship and songwriting and some of our songs are on this cd along with songs influenced by music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond. i loved making this cd more than i imagined and i'm already starting to develop a 2nd one. i hope you enjoy listening to this cd as much as i enjoyed creating it. thank you for keeping the music alive by supporting sites like cd baby.
