Those words are more than just the words that comprise the title of Christian R&B newcomer Paul Genesis' debut album; they're also the first words written in the bible, in the book of Genesis.

With a rapid flux of new Gospel as well as R&B talent emerging on the scene, Paul Genesis no doubt has his work cut out for him in defining his own niche in the music industry. But what's more important to the California native, who is also the Children's Choir leader at his church, is that people are touched and blessed by the message delivered in his music. While his main focus and goal is to reach people (especially the youth) with his dynamic style of Gospel, R&B and Hip-Hop, he also understands the importance of releasing quality music that stands on it's own in the market place. For this reason, Paul turned to record producer, songwriter and longtime friend Devant'e.

Known to be a meticulous worker and genius in the recording studio, Devant'e, who wrote, produced, and arranged the entire album for Genesis, pulled out all stops to ensure that there was something here for everyone. "When I met up with Paul about this album project, my main focus was clear; my vision was to make music that sounded like mainstream r&b, but delivered a powerful message that I feel God placed on my heart. It just so happened that Paul had the same vision, and the result was In The Beginning."

Tripplatinum Entertainment CEO Devant'e was quick to sign Paul Genesis as his Gospel protege, after cutting just a few records in the studio. "Devant'e is one of the best songwriters and producers out there, and while they may be his words, every single one of them I feel in my heart. I was able to just express how I felt or what I wanted to say in my heart, and within literally minutes, he would just pen lyrics that were exactly how I was feeling. It was an amazing experience, and I just hope and pray that people will be touched and blessed as much as I am when they hear my music."
