Born and raised in Mid-State Saint Paul, Minnesota back in 1951, a family of 13, everybody played or sang something. I always loved to play the piano, starting at a very young age playing one finger, two fingers up until I could cover the entire board. I have found over the years that the best way to communicate to the public was through music. I picked Jazz because I find it to be a great way to express oneself.
I like the Jazz, you know, the 40âs, 50âs Jazz, plus, itâs a traditional thing American style. I really felt that I had a special connection with the piano, what ever I could here, whatever I wanted to create I could always create on the piano.
I luckily had the opportunity to study at Cal State, CA, and my interest was more in theory which greatly helped because I wasnât planning on loosing my eye site. Iâm always learning where it fits, where it goes, how it sounds. Iâm all about Love, Truth, Peace and Happiness. Music is the way to communicate, a universal language, anything you want to say, you can say it through music. Iâve traveled all over the United States, Canada and Mexico, that was allot of fun and a wonderful learning experience.
Performing for years with many groups, I always wanted to perform as a solo artist because through all my experiences I believe I can play the music people are seeking.
Performing as a vocalist and a pianist, I am now called the Entertainerâs Entertainer. I know if I can get your head to bop, your fingers to snap and your feet to tap, then I have fulfilled my wish as an Entertainerâs Entertainer. I hope that I strike the cords that will make you feel what is real and I hope that you know what I know, that itâs in the music. It is my wish that these recordings are for you, for all times.
