âBringing the message of love and respect to the people of the worldâ is the creative drive for recording artist, composer and musician Isaac Haile Selassie, on his new self-released EP âETHIOPIAâ on Conscious Music Records.
Singing in both English and Amharic (Ethiopiaâs national language), âTemasganâ (Give Thanks), âEthiopiaâ and âMusicâ comprise the three tracks on the EP and integrate a musical landscape of roots reggae, rock and world beat.
Isaac Haile Selassie, born and raised in Ethiopia, left his country in the late â70s at the outbreak of the political uprising. He then traveled through Africa, Europe and the United States, playing music and inspiring audiences over three continents.
Watching the world situation change over the 26 years that heâs been in America has strongly influenced his wish for people of the world to unite, to stop the violence and hatred that is now permeating the human population, and Isaac heavily expresses this through his music.
Isaac received critical acclaim for his debut album âUNITEâ released in 1999 and has performed at some of the leading reggae and music festivals in the United States. Press reviews, radio play and dynamic live performances have garnered Isaac a very loyal fan base. In addition to
promoting âEthiopia, â Isaac is scheduled for two new releases in 2007; a full-length CD that continues with his current creative theme and a dub album in collaboration with another Los Angeles-based musician.
