Minister David Carmichael, born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, received the vision from God to form a young adult group. In the year of 2000, Minister Carmichael sought after Godâs vision and formed a group (which would be later named Exaltation). Exaltation, comprised of friends and family, started with only six group members and one musician. Exaltation reached the youth in the city of Columbia with a different, but unique singing ministry. Minister Carmichael and Exaltation also reached the mature audience with their southern church style.

In 2004, with no immediate intentions of recording, Exaltation received the invitation to record the background vocals for Nita Copeningâs Project (Caution: Youâre Bound To Be Blessed, also on CD BABY). After hearing the great sound of the group, Clarence Sims (Nitaâs producer for the project) encouraged Minister Carmichael and Exaltation to record their own CD project. In August 2005, Samuel Burgess (CEO of SLÄVANÄâS INC.) and Clarence Sims (SIMS PRODUCTIONS) produced Exaltationâs first maxi-single, but they didnât stop there. In February 2006, God allowed Minister David Carmichael and Exaltation to release their full freshman CD project entitled, âBE STILL AND KNOW.â

This CD project provides the listener with sounds such as Jazz (HE CAN DO IT), Latin (THE MOMENT YOU LET GO), Praise and Worship (I VOW, USE ME, NO MORE CHAINS) and last but not least, GOOD âOLE FASHION SOUTHERN CHURCH (ONE MORE TIME)!!! The CD also features AZEEM (Comedian of BETâS Comic View), who adds just a little humor while enjoying the soulful sounds of Minister David Carmichael and Exaltation.
