Draft Pick is one of the most promising hip-hop squads to come out of the Washington DC Metro area in years. Seth âSRâ Reed and Ty L.A.W. (Listen And Watch) have repeatedly displayed their dynamic versatility in public - publicized rap battles - and in the studio through popular local mixtapes. Often mistaken for NBA basketball players, baby-faced Ty, 6'5 , and SR, 6'3 with naturally gray eyes, attract attention even before they speak. With basketball star attributes and incredible lyrical abilities, the duo appropriately dubbed themselves Draft Pick while in high school in Prince Georgesâ County, Maryland, just outside of the Nationâs Capitol, and they continue to grow and develop.
Seth Reed, 18, was born Baltimore, Maryland and has lived in both Philly and Denver before moving to Maryland at the age of twelve. SR actually began writing at four years of age. By the time he reached high school, he was a lyrical legend â his high school being noted as a hip-hop hot bed â equipped with lunch room rap battles, elite rap squads, and highly anticipated mixtape production and distribution.
Ty L.A.W., also 18, spent his childhood in Atlanta, GA, as well as in Silver Spring and Oxon Hill, Maryland. He and SR met in high school and devoted the summer of their junior year to writing, rhyming and improving their flow, after which they became one of the most highly respected MC duos in the metro area.
As a result of their diverse geographic backgrounds, work ethic, and lyric-motivating life experiences, SR and Ty L.A.W. have been able to combine refined lyricism and a myriad of styles â from punch lines to storytelling, rapid-fire wordplay, R&B, club tracks, hard rap, commercial songs, underground songs, conscious rap, and traditional battles â into the dedicated, versatile (and very tall) package known as Draft Pick.
