Los Angeles based Recording Artist/Actor, JAVEN is the classic example of a musician who has the dynamic talents of a singer/songwriter, actor and producer. Building both his music and film career on a foundation of integrity and individualized style has earned him critical praise and audience approval.
When launching his career JAVEN quickly became no stranger to television. He landed a position as a co-host of the "Paula White Show" on BET from 2001-2002. JAVEN has also been a frequent guest artist and appears regularly on numerous networks including BET, TBN, FOX, NBC, CTN, DAYSTAR and more. JAVEN's impeccable stage presence led him to star in numerous productions. He was a lead in the theatrical production of A Raisin in the Sun and from 2002-2003 he starred in the Off-Broadway musical The Rock and the Rabbi.
In 2004 he was nominated for the Marlin Awards best Male Contemporary Solo, Male Artist, Song and Gospel performance of the year, of which he won 2 of the 4 award nominations. He also won an Ensound Award for Best Urban Male Artist of the Year, along with a nomination for Best Male Artist of the year from the Southern California Guild Awards.
JAVENâs hit single "One Step" is featured in the film "The Cross" in theaters now. He also has a supporting role in the feature film "Preacher's Kid" starring R&B Singer Tank, and former Destiny's Child LaToya Luckett with Warner Brothers/Generation Entertainment in theaters 2010. His latest CD "FREE" includes power ballads like the hymnal Near the Cross, the pop hit The One, and from the movie "The Cross" the hit single "One Step."
