Origami Olympika is a subunit of Origami Republika, an international experimental art-network. Origami Olympika is mainly an electronic sportsnoise band, playing heavy drones and soundscapes with a religious and political touch.

The core of Olympikas concerts and music is a blend of moving pictures, noisy and droney soundscapes, especially exemplified by their performances to the movie "Olympia" by Leni Riefenstahl at Norwegian film clubs. Sports, dictatorship and mass events fascinates the band at large. In line with this they have dedicated concerts to Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu (four years before David Byrneâs 2010 album dedicated to Imelda Marcos) and the famous Norwegian "spy" Arne Treholt.

Their latest release includes the mini CD "Ola By Rise is so fucking cool", reviewed by the Norwegian weekend magazine "Morgenbladet" as "â¦the first norwegian gay noise football tribute song". Ola By Rise is the former goalkeeper at the Norwegian national football team.
