Description:
An autobiography of how Don DeWitt overcame his learning difficulties and the many challenges while growing up. After graduating high school, Don joined the United States Marine Corps; serving at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as well as in the European, Mediterranean, and South America theaters. After leaving the Marines, Don joined the fire service, and law enforcement, as well as taking up the martial arts as he worked his way up the ranks of all three. In 2002, Don was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis of the hips, which required a total hip replacement. Eventually, Don had no choice but to retire from law enforcement on full disability due to his physical limitations. Don later became an author of his second book. Don describes in detail his personal experiences; good and bad; the many dangerous situations and calls; a nationally televised courtroom brawl that made Court TV, and how it physically and psychologically affected him; the pain and problems, along with the physical restrictions and limitations associated with osteoarthritis and total hip replacements. Don's story about how he overcame the negative attitude, lies and rumors that filled his life; succeeded where others anticipated his failure, is an inspiration to others.
