The âSecrets Of My Loveâ album is a culmination of Johnnyâs best musical influences on a Pop level fashioned as a compilation of love songs. Refined with League of Artists Producer Charlie Lewis, these new songs not only bring Johnnyâs songwriting and vocal abilities to light, but also his recording engineering and electronic production talents. Conceptually written about loves many secrets, Johnny sang, wrote, performed and programmed his new songs in house at Brace For Impact Records in Grand Prairie, Texas. Johnny approached this album one love song at a time with just him and his acoustic, but each tune directed him into the many popular styles of music with hints of his Latin influences.
Love has many secrets and with the release of Johnnyâs current album and subsequent promotional tour the best-kept secrets are finally coming to light, his love for Pop music.
The opening song âMi Chulaâ has strong Latin rhythms and Johnnyâs bass playing pushing the song. âFlavor Of Loveâ, an R&B number, has Johnny bringing intimacy back into love with lyrical lines such as âRefine me in the flames of your heartâ. The title track âSecrets of My Loveâ is a heavily influenced Spanish rocker song with Johnnyâs characteristic acoustic guitar under the drive. âReservedâ a pop dance song has Johnnyâs love solely set aside. The power ballad âYouâre My Diamond and Rubyâ has one of Johnnyâs memorable chorusâ flowing throughout the tune.
Another R&B number âYour Elegant Loveâ with Johnnyâs vocal and lyrical formulas sets the tone for real love hidden away. âMy Lovinfulââ, with itâs acoustic guitar and pop rocker lines, has simple but memorable acoustic guitar riffs as well as chorusâ. The song âFlatter Me Deepâ with itâs danceable vibe and subtle rock guitars has Johnny down with the madness of her love. âDie and Flip This Loveâ with its poignant music poetically proclaims love never dies with lines such as âWeâre not some faded epitaph, romantic figures on stained glassâ. The Dance song âVelvet Red Sweet Dreamâ caps the album on the club dance floor with more of Johnnyâs great vocal and lyrical abilities.
