Details:
Stilly âBâ Da Scriptural Lyricist is a rapper whose lyrics and music reflect his heart to serve Jesus Christ and encourage others to follow Him. Off stage heâs known as Robert Guillen Jr., a devoted husband, blessed artist, and servant of God who is striving to be like his Lord in every aspect of his life. His ministry is just a small part of the much bigger story he knows God is writing.

Stilly âBâ was born in Los Angeles, California in 1982. As an infant, he was diagnosed with Isovaleric Acidemia; a rare metabolic disorder which prevents him from eating certain proteins, a condition he still lives with to this day. When he was two years old, his parents divorced and by age five, he gave his life to Jesus Christ at a Darrel Mansfield concert. As a child his father introduced him to soft and hard Christian rock such as Larry Norman, Stryper, Allies, and Darrel Mansfield. This is where Stilly âBâs love for music began.

He first fell in love with bass and drums from the funk music he listened to with his mother. As a child he realized these songs were great for dancing, but werenât glorifying God. He had never really seen Christians dance, nor heard Christian music with the same rhythm and bass that he admired in funk music. In junior high, he was introduced to Gospel rap in the form of DC Talk. However, it wasnât until he saw Unity Klan in concert that God began to call him into Hip Hop ministry.

He began writing rhymes, beat boxing and free styling as a junior in high school. While in Bible College, he dubbed himself Stilly âBâ after God ministered to him through Psalm 46:10, which states that to know God we are to âbe stillâ. He performed for youth ministries at various churches throughout college, letting kids know that even a church boy could rap and Christian music could be just as good as secular. Upon graduating with his AA in 2002, he became a youth pastor in Washington, where he recorded his first album âStrictly Ministryâ. He moved back to California in 2004 and in 2005 obtained his BA in Biblical Theology. In 2006, he met an aspiring young producer named Jake Fernandez and they quickly became friends because of their common love for Hip Hop and Christ. This resulted in the production of his second album; Strictly Ministry II âBack in Da Habitâ.

Stilly âBâ continued performing throughout the next few years and got married in 2009. Toward the end of that year he started work on his third album and will be releasing it in December of this year. With this new album he simply hopes to bless his family in Christ, continuing to shine Jesus through his lyrics and his music. Strictly Ministry has become more than an album title; it is his lifeâs motto because God has taught him that ministry never stops. As Christians, we should always be ready to spread Godâs word when He provides the opportunity.
