It's been a roller coaster ride for our group. We started out as a three-piece back in 2006 and played the usual wedding, anniversary, and private party circuit for about a year.  Our desire to do something other than "play other people's music" really got us thinking about how we could develop into something original and have that unique sound that other bands are compared with.  We were continually writing and playing around with different ideas and approaches in our music to hone that unique sound we desperately sought.  This really forced us as a group to look beyond the music we were playing and attempt to communicate a message through it.  We eventually began to receive a favorable response from our originals as we incorporated them into our set lists. Over time we were able to build our sets around our own music.  We believe we have found our voice. The medium we use is Jazz and all of its essential elements.  The Elements of Jazz does not signify that we all have mastered the Jazz idiom, by no means. It simply symbolizes our style and our purpose and our function.  It is by pulling from the different forms of Jazz, and not limiting ourselves to a particular form of Jazz, that we have at our fingertips a limitless vocabulary with which to communicate and, at the same time, reach more hearers as a result.  We are essentially a fusion band.  However, it is more important to us that our listeners hear the message in the music.  That's what Jazz is all about.  Our first Album The Elements of Jazz is a sampling of the various forms of Jazz.  In our first release you will hear a Dave Brubeck-like tune in his signature 5/4 meter transitioning into a Bill Evans-like waltz with a smooth Jazz melodyâall in the same songâto a classic Bebop melody played over a hip hop back beat to a very pensive Bossa Nova.  Listen carefully and you will hear The Elements of Jazz.
