Feather textured jazz heads with inverted blues over a manipulated swing beat.
8 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Bebop, BLUES: Jazzy Blues
Details:
Composer guitar player Ben Havick's latest efforts to contribute to the American Art Form of Jazz combo are striking and original in their dedication to rudimentary bop elements and feathered softness inspiring a return to graceful envelopment.
His site, Benhavick.com, features a few samples from his 2006 release âHelp Me Danceâ.
âHelp Me Danceâ, Havick's 34th self produced album, is a nice collection of original Jazz tunes featuring highlights such as âWritten in the Wordâ, â Big Baronâ, and âNext Stuckâ, as well as twisted investments in reinventing the swing âOh Goâ, and âAnd Can't Block the Queenâ, where Havick's now trademark attempts to invert and reinvent the Blues over the âspiritedâ swing sound subtly succeed.
His website currently features one sample from the too-be-released album "Cool Aid". The song snippet is only a blueprint and is titled âHuck Luckâ.
This guitar player is worth a listen, as his adherence to tradition and his adaptation of the swing beat bring the listener a little bit closer to the guitar.
