Influences include the beatles, wilco, beck, townes van zandt, the flaming lips, and will oldham. Lo-fi production compliments the analog 60s rock sound.
10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, POP: Beatles-pop
Details:
Born in San Fransisco, Isaac Wardell began traveling at a very young age. He has been writing and performing since he was 14 years old, and has lived in California, Texas, Alaska, Switzerland, Georgia, and Tennessee (where he currently resides.). After finishing college with a music degree in 2002, Isaac began recording and performing both alone and with a band. He is currently promoting his new record "Bells & Whistles," released as a solo album, but featuring a large backing band.
Isaac's music has always been heavily influenced by the Beatles, and other great rock music of the late 1960s. The new record showcases many of these sounds, with an anolog sound and heavy use of melatron and other vintage keyboards. Many of the songs on this record also reveal an alt-country bent, which has been a steady stream of Isaac's music for the last several years, stemming from his love for songwriters such as Townes Van Zandt, Jeff Tweedy, and Richard Buckner.
Isaac is currently in the process of relocating to Brooklyn, New York. He will be performing in the city extensively beginning in May of this year. He anticipates the release of a follow-up record by September.
