Details:
True Hip Hop Groups are a seemingly dying breed. Gone are the days when artists with a true connection hooked up to make ground breaking music. These days, the majority of Rap âgroupsâ consist of two or more solo artists with separate agendas doing projects together masquerading as a collective. Enter Vallejo, Californiaâs Indecent & Krypto. The two lifelong friends have been making music together for the better part of the last decade. The duoâs musical evolution has seen them go from karaoke pause/record overdubâs to four track recorders to eventually owning their own complete studio where some of the hottest tracks in the Bay Area have begun to emerge. Their label, Sacred Entertainment and Indecentâs, Indecent Productions are considered by those who know as oneâs to watch in the coming year. Their bond is deep. They know each other perhaps better than they know themselves. Their connection is uncanny. They are the epitome of not just a Hip Hop group, but a Musical group. âWe have more of a relationship. We grew up together,â says Indecent when asked to explain the bond the two share. âWe know each other. We know what each other likes. I mean I like his flow so much and he likes my beats so much that it comes together like its chemistry, you know what Iâm sayinâ?â Krypto adds, âWe been workinâ together so long, itâs almost like second nature to us.â

Their musical style is diverse and not easy to pin point or label. âWe get different opinions from different people. We really donât classify it because weâre tryinâ to be versatile so weâll leave that up to the people that hear it, you know? But I will say that its some real ground level, down to earth type stuff,â explains Krypto. Indecentâs production ranges in tempo from the high 80âs to the low 100âs and in sound from trademark âBay Area Slapâ to chord-heavy, introspective tracks. His style as a rapper is zany, but polished to say the least. He knows who he is and what he is trying to convey. Kryptoâs distinctive voice is his trademark. While he is known to change up the flow and delivery of his verses, his voice is always recognizable and ear catching. His guest appearances are usually the highlight of a song and always keep the heads talking and reciting his lines. As a duo they are like bread and butter, pancakes and syrup or peanut butter and jelly. They simply go together.

Indecent & Krypto released their first full length album in 2003, entitled, âThe 1st Chapter.â With no major features and production done, as it has and always will be, done by Indecent himself, the debut moved an impressive amount of units in a very short time, ultimately selling out everywhere it was sold. The project, above all else, laid the groundwork and served as a solid foundation on which to build the future of the franchise. The pairâs follow-up was Kryptoâs debut solo, âControversy.â Released in 2004 and featuring Vallejo and Bay Area All-Stars such as Turf Talk and P.S.D., âControversyâ served notice that Krypto was a lyrical force to be reckoned with and further established that Indecent and Krypto, as a duo, were not to be slept on. Keeping with the theme of releasing one hot project per year, the two returned with the Quasi-Compilation, âIndecent & Krypto Present: Tha Quake.â Unlike your everyday compilation album, âTha Quakeâ not only featured some of the hottest up and coming artists in the region going for theirs over Indecentâs signature production, but a great majority of the project featured either Indecent, Krypto or both of them on the tracks as well. In doing so, the project served in two capacities, allowing the duo to network with other artists and tap into those artistsâ fan bases as well helping to keep the Indecent & Krypto sound relevant in the absence of a true group project. All of these releases set the stage for what is destined to be the year of Indecent & Krypto.

2006 started fast for the Vallejo duo and has continued to pick up speed. While putting the finishing touches on their fourth studio release and second group project, âRap Athletes Track Meet,â which will feature fellow V-Town Star Young Dru and the legendary Mac Dre amongst others, they were featured on MTVâs âMy Block: The Bay,â an in depth look at the Bay Area Rap uprising hosted by MTV personality and the Bay Areaâs own, Sway. Simultaneously, they were able to get their first single, âPlayinââ onto the regular play list on powerhouse radio station 106.1 KMELâs âThe Blockâ with Big Von and DJ Scotty Foxx. They were also featured in the last two issues of Xplosive magazine and have also been in Ill Tip and 916 magazines as well and have their guests appearances on local radio call-in shows have had the phone lines burning up. With âRap Athletes Track Meetâ complete and ready for a mid-summer release, Indecent & Krypto are poised to make major moves not only regionally, but quite possibly nationally. Currently shopping for major label backing via a distribution deal, the two seem to be just a deal away from seeing their dreams come to fruition. From day one, they have written, produced, marketed and promoted their music by themselves and while their drive and motivation is undeniable, they feel it is time they get properly recognized and rewarded for their efforts. A message to the majors: Do Not Sleep on Indecent & Krypto! Artists like them do not come along everyday.
