I-Kay & Bunni B

Reggae Artists . Musicians

I-Kay, born Kay Ashiedu and Bunni B, born Bunny Brissett, are seasoned recording and performing Reggae musicians.
I-Kay, a Nigerian by birth, started recording at age eleven, and is a trained mechanical technician as well as one of Nigeriaâs most dynamic singers.
Inspired by great names in the business like Burning Spear and Culture, to name a few, I-Kay made his debut with two other musical friends as MESSENJAH in an album titled âRise Africaâ, in 1987.
I-Kay later formed JAFORCE band and released a second album in 1989, which was banned for anti-military lyrical contents. I-Kay has since performed alongside and opened for big names like Burning Spear, Culture, Aswad, Lucky Dube, Paul Simon and many more artists in various parts of Europe and Africa.
I-Kay later arrived in the USA and began work on a solo album recording at the Apollo Theater Recording Studio where he met Bunni B who can be heard singing on his LP.
Bunni B, born to Jamaican parents in Pittsburgh, Pa., also grew up as a child singing at church choirs, and in all girls singing groups. Bunni B later became a professional Photographer and in the process had an assignment to photograph Bob Marley and the Wailers, with the I-Threes in San Francisco. âSeeing the I-Threes inspired me back to the musicâ.
She then went on a discovery mission to her parentâs homeland, Jamaica, where she was formally launched into the Reggae Music arena by reggae producer, Augustus Pablo, Dub specialist, who produced many singles & her âBetter Safe Than Sorryâ LP. Carlton Hines, of Rumors fame, pinned & produced many singles for Bunni B. He also produced Bunni Bâs combos with Angie Angel, General Trees, & DJ SoulJah of Mystic Revealers.
Bunni Bâs singing career blossomed to the point that she either sang with or for popular acts like, Garnett Silk, Tony Rebel, Mikey Dread, The Congos, Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Jr. Delgado, Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt, Mystic Revealers, Kymani Marley, Nasio Fontaine, Everton Blender, Anthony B and Israel Vibration.
I-Kay & Bunni B have just finished working on a CD, âAfrican Danceâ.
If this is your first time hearing of I-Kay & Bunni B, rest assured it wouldnât be the last.
