Details:
Jonesy's first solo bass release "Meaningful Sounds (with regard to random themes)", released in spring of 2004, is a collection of music written over the past few years. It was recorded in various situations and for various purposes. Some of the tunes have developed and are performed by the music groups Fast Eddie and Naked Jungle. And some are experimentations and raw ideas, leaning towards a soundtrack feel. All of the music on the album was written, performed, and recorded by Jonesy. It is a mix of tribal world fusion styles, ranging from ambient soundscapes to heavy odd meters. Jonesy uses 6 string basses, 6 string MIDI bass, upright bass, acoustic and electronic drums/percussion, theremin, and various loopers to create each song. His finger tapping technique allows for bass and melody lines to be played together and for intricate bass lines to weave in and out as the musical focus. Influences include Victor Wooten, Trey Gunn, Tony Levin, and Les Claypool. For more info, contact, and performance schedule visit www.myspace.com/jonesyworld4bass
