The title of this CD ALIVE, is more appropriate than one could ever imagine. This was the project that Mother Nature tested again and again, but the resilience of the human body, mind and spirit prevailed. This album was in production at Red Cliff Sound in Colorado, when a forest fire destroyed the studio. The studio rebuilt and is doing well!
As for Miss Holly, her approach was "it is what it is. You can take away recorded tracks but you can't take away the song. The songs became the most important thing and presenting them as intimately as possible but still being true to each song was the task at hand. I'm very proud of these lyrics and the sentiment each song evokes. It's a more personal album than I've ever done and I think I'll keep this approach in mind more often. We'll see what life throws at me and how I change in the process. Hopefully this album is like a really good friend, there when it's needed!"
Jill Holly will hit the road again in 2007 performing to her ever loyal fans. Her writing, always impactual, her performance, engaging, her voice, clear and true and her commitment to her art and the audience, joyous!
