Jezda's self-written and produced debut album, Come With Me, is driven by playfully provocative lyrics and hip-pop rhythms that make you want to get busy on the dance floor, or in the bedroom. In either case, even the insatiable will be fulfilled.
Jezda, originally from rural northeastern Pennsylvania, grew up with a passion and devotion for music and dance. Simultaneously, she learned to play the piano, spent years playing the alto saxophone and participated in every dance and gymnastics class she could find. Not only was Jezda a "band geek", she was also the cheerleading captain.
A creative and free spirit at heart, Jezda quickly realized that she did not quite fit in with the normal daily life and mindset of a small town crowd. "It was strange for me to grow up where I did. Since I grew up in the woods, there was terrible radio reception and the closest club was an hour away. I would watch MTV and I always had this sense that I was missing out on something. For me, the music became my escape. It made me feel alive."
Yearning to explore, Jezda spent her adult years in Miami, New York and finally Los Angeles, taking in what each city had to offer, especially the club scene. "I first learned to tap my toes to The Rolling Stones, John Cougar Mellancamp and Stevie Nicks. As I got older, I got more into the hip-hop scene. Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott and Ludacris became my inspirations. Their music has always made me dance. Now, I want my music to have the same effect.
Upon the recent completion of her self-written and produced debut album, Jezda is finally considering herself ready to take on the music industry, tackling every challenge with a ferocity that is second only to her enormous talents. "At the time I was doing this album, I was in a rocky relationship, so the writing came easily to me. Then, I had to get the other stuff out of my head, so I bought an 8-track and an 80 dollar keyboard. Before I knew it, I was recording my own vocals in my bedroom and learning how to work with professional equipment. The funny thing is that I am sooooo not a computer person. I just knew that it had to be done my way, not matter what. The music needs me."
