15 MP3 Songs
BLUES: Texas Style, COUNTRY: Country Rock

Details:
"Red Dirt Blues" is the latest album from The Jeff Strahan Band; released on September 1, 2006 Recorded in AUSTIN, TEXAS at Congress House Studios, this is Strahan's fourth project and by far his best. All of the songs on this CD are original songs written by Strahan and the band except for a very cool version of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues." The Strahan Band is very powerful and very tight, road ridden band. They work extremely hard, playing well over 200 shows a year on top of writing, recording, and rehearsing. Their night after night performances together have helped them perfect their craft and their awesome live energy shines through in this recordings. They are pushing their music as âRed Dirtâ music.

Strahan says:
Most of us musicians hate categories and pigeon holes for our music because giving it a "blues" or "rock" or "country" title may alienate someone who would really like the music if they listened. If I call it blues, I'm scared that some potential fans may shy away because they are not a hard core blues fan. However, people deserve to know what kind of music it is if they are going to TAKE TIME TO LISTEN. The first question I get when meeting people or conducting interviews is "what kind of music do you play?" I tell them we play "Red Dirt Music."

âRed Dirtâ music was born in the dancehalls of Texas and Oklahoma where hard-core country collided with raw rock & roll. It was not born in the studios of Nashville. This is the real deal. It is a fresh blend of Texas Blues, Rock & Roll, and Outlaw Country with some Tex-Mex thrown in. It's really just a melting pot of the music we all grew up on and continue to discover today. Red Dirt is more about attitude than it is about genre and I think it describes our music well. It's just good rocking music with some great lyrics. We Promise you will love it!!
