Jeff began playing the saxophone at age 11, but it really began in his late teens when he first heard the music of John Coltrane on recordings from the classic Coltrane Quartet from the 1960's such as "Crescent", "Coltrane", and the record album that changed the musical and spiritual lives of musicians across all genres, "A Love Supreme". Coltrane's influence can certainly be heard in his sound, especially when he pays homage to Coltrane on his latest release "Continuance", but Jeff's sound has been inspired by so many great tenors like Sonny Rollins, Joe Henderson, Hank Mobley; modern greats like Joe Lovano, George Garzone and Jerry Bergonzi have also made an indelible impact on his approach to the saxophone.
