Jamai Springfield Mosely knew at a young age that singing and entertaining others was his gift. As a child prodigy with natural harmony, Jamaiâs singing commands attention. With a voice gifted at birth and cultivated over the years, Jamai has roots in singing in gospel choirs were part of his first introduction to the world of music. Growing up in a musical household, Jamaiâs first musical memory was when he was a pre-schooler. Jamai recounts,

âI would sit out in front of my house and sing. I would receive praises and honks from people who heard me.â

Since the age of 4 years old, Jamai has been professionally competing in a variety of events and has earned a reputation as a regional favorite within the past 2 years. His vocal abilities have been heard in musical and theatrical performances in Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia. A sampling of other events include the African-American Idol Show in Philadelphia, the Delaware County Idol Competition, the New Artist Spotlight on WUSL â Philadelphia Power 99FM as well as participation in Showtime at the Apollo in Harlem, New York in March 2005.

Jamai is a consummate entertainer. As a songwriter, he crafts lyrics which audiences young and old can identify with. As a singer, his vocal ability captivates audiences from the first chord to the resonating final note. His soulful sound appeals to R&B, gospel, hip-hop and soul fans alike. His musical inspiration includes artists such as Marvin Gay, Luther Vandross, John Legend, India Arie, Mary J. Blige and Usher.

At 16 years, Jamai Mosely is undoubtedly an artist to watch. His self-entitled CD featuring two Step, Is this love and How I roll, was completed in February 2005 and is available for review.
