Richel Kompst began performing at the age of 10 months for the nursing staff of a local hospital in Moorhead, MN. It was the early 60's - the Twist was hot - Hospital bed dancing launched a career that has taken Richel around the world. Since receiving her B. F.A. In Music - Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University, she has had the good fortune of playing some of Musical Theatreâs most entertaining leading ladies including Roxy Hart, Reno Sweeney and Princess Winifred. She adored the role of Rose in the Martin Tahse Production of Song of Singapore. Ms. Kompst played the Factory Girl, understudying Cossette in the 2nd National Company of Les Miserables. In San Francisco, she was seen on stage at the Great American Music Hall, the Plush Room, at Club Fugaziâs Beach Blanket Babylon and in the many incarnations of And What Give Up Show Biz?. In LA, Richel originated the role of The Girlfriend in All That He Was at the Tamarind Theatre and has enjoyed successful runs of The Red White and Blue Holiday Revue, (Tweeter Center, NJ)Forbidden Broadway, Forbidden Hollywood and most resently Forbidden Vegas in Las Vegas. She can be seen on film and Television as various sundry corporate types and moms and heard on the Original Cast CD of All That He Was, Maxâs Garden, an AIDS Benefit CD, and on occasional Saturday mornings narrating The Grasshopper and the Ant for Disneysâ Sing Me a Story. Richelâs favorite role to date is that of Mommy to Oliver and Abigayle (The most amazing teachers Iâve known).
