Kevin B. Edwards
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1
While you may have heard a lot of Gospel Music before, Kevin's style and technique is embedded in a special anointing. He is a living testament of his music. He loves God, and gives all Glory to him for allowing the promise to come to fruition.
As a young man growing up in Vernon, Florida he had the opportunity to sing in his local church choir at the Church of God by Faith, and minister in the West Florida Recording Choir. While in the West Florida Recording Choir, he was allotted the opportunity to perform on the Bobby Jones Gospel Showcase Taping.
He relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1994 and joined the Powerhouse of Deliverance COGIC, and while there he served in the Voices of Power. VOP allowed him the privilege of performing at the Gospel Music Workshop of America singing duet with Pastor Murphy J. Pace, on the title cut "Didn't I Tell Ya". He also sang back up in the mass choir for La Shun Pace's CD recording "A Wealthy Place".
Kevin has been given a taste of Musical Comedy plays. He sang backup in the musical play "Fix Me Jesus" staring Dottie Peoples, James Bignon, and Rev. Dreyfus Smith. He acted and sang in the comedy play âThe Pastorâs Appreciationâ. Kevin has ministered on stage with many Gospel greats such as Byron Cage, Dorothy Norwood, William Becton, Shirley Caesar, Bobby Jones, Isaac Carree, and Michael Bolton. In 2001 Kevin released his first musical composition âLord You Kept Your Promiseâ, and in 2006 he released his 2nd project âThe Favor Of Godâ. He sang back up on Bishop Eddie Longs 2nd Total Praise release âItâs A New Beginningâ. As a member of New Birthâs NuPraz Choir, he was allotted the opportunity to back-up Michael Bolton at the Grammy Heroes Awards. Kevin also sang back-up on âThe Fighting Temptationsâ musical soundtrack âRain Downâ starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonceâ Knowles.
In 2001 & 2004 Kevin embarked upon another facet of ministry that is very dear to him. He traveled to the country of Jamaica with Word Alive, founded by Pastor Jacqueline E. McCullough to touch the people of Jamaica with food, Medical Care, and Spiritual Empowerment.
Presently, He is a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church where Bishop Eddie L. Long serves as senior pastor.
