Details:
Jeremy Kahn's life has come full circle, geographically speaking.

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, he played in a jazz quartet with high school buddy Gary Sinise.

He then went to Macalester College in St.

Paul before transferring to New England Conservatory in Boston to Study with Jaki Byard, a major turning point in his musical development.

Upon graduation, Kahn moved to New York, just like so many other aspiring jazz musians.

While there, he unexpectedly ended up in a band specializing in jazz from the '20's and '30's: Vince Giordano's Nighthawks, where he remained a member for many years.

While in New York, he also played for the theatre, including the Obie Award-winning music for three Sam Shepard plays written by Max Roach.

It was there that he met Bobby Watson, and had the opportunity to play with him again at the Heinekin Jazz Festival in Rotterdam.

During that time, he also played with Pepper Adams at the Singapore Jazz Festival.

In 1993, seeking a better life for his family, Kahn returned to Chicago.

Since then, he has been one of Chicago's busiest pianists, playing a variety of jazz, theatre, and studio recording.

In 1995, while in New York playing with The Manhattan Rhythm Kings at The Rainbow Room, he took the opprtunity to book some studio time with old buddies from his Boston days, Boots Maleson and Tim Horner.

The result was "The Jitterbug Waltz".
