Cool and sophisticated melodic piano and heartwarming vocals. This describes the music of Lisa Addeo. The Arizona Republic says, âHer albums are richly varied but the consistent thread is Addeoâs class and good taste.â
She is a singer/songwriter/musician who started her career as a pianist at the age of seven and began performing by the age of nine. She has performed at Radio City Music hall, playing piano alongside Liberace as his protégé.
Lisaâs strengths lie in her musical versatility. She writes and arranges her own songs, plays piano and sings with any combination of other instruments. She shines as a soloist, in a duo, trio or larger ensemble. She is a member of ASCAP, The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and Hollywood's Local 47 Musicians Union. She has appeared in many TV shows and films, in one musical form or another.
She majored in voice and piano in college and before finding her own âvoiceâ in smooth pop jazz, she sang opera for 2 years. She earned her graduate degree from the prestigious Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, where she focused on composing and arranging. She has arranged and conducted for orchestras as large as 27 pieces under the tutelage of Dick Grove.
Her national television debut was as a Catholic nun playing and singing for Ed McMahon in âSuper Bloopers and Practical Jokesâ. Her 2nd national TV appearance was as a Catholic nun again in âWeird Scienceâ. Was someone trying to tell her something?
She just recently received the good news that her song âDesert Hideawayâ from her âHotel Californiaâ CD is being played on the radio in the UK.
As of October 2006, her CDs have been downloaded by over 50,000 people worldwide.
Lisa is active in her community and volunteers for the Sojourner Center, a domestic violence shelter for women and children; the Mission of Mercy which is a rolling primary care health clinic/van in the greater Phoenix area for the under-insured and non-insured; the Sterling Institute which is an organization which fosters successful relationships between all people everywhere promoting peace at every level - from individual to community to the world; The St. Maryâs Food Bank in Phoenix which supplies food to the homeless; Lisa also contributes to her local newsletter in her neighborhood.
