LAURA JANE - now in her own voice is releasing her debut album TO MY PLANET, BOO! And Laura's planet includes every style of music and it is indicative on this record. "I didn't want to do what seemed to be an R & B record, I wanted to incorporate rock, electronic, world music even. My original concept was a Sade meets Bjork". She then turned to friend and colleague Winston Black, probably Los Angeles's premier underground producer to concieve the record. Laura Jane's influence and love for true old school soul music is reflected in her vocal style captivated on such songs like THE BUZZ,, SUMMERTIME IN THE CITY and FEVER. Her thoughtful lyrics and messages are exemplified in two raw and earthy brazilian percussion tracks created by the Gilmar Gomes Percussion Orchestra on THE CALL and DOMINO EFFECT. Mr. Black, incorporating rock, electronica and funky dance music is reflected on DEAR RITA and LONELY SUNSHINE. The hot beat and arabic sound of LAURA LEFT and the transient title track TO MY PLANET BOO give this record a little bit of everything for everyone. The only way to describe is funky world pop music.
