Details:
Much of this was conceived on trains and recorded with handheld tape machines, battery powered synths and samplers, broken guitars, mangled drums, and jury-rigged effects pedals, all wired together with a sea of cabling that threatened to ooze over us and ingest us at any moment like a tremendous analog/digital amoeba.

At times there were five of us. Often there were seven or eight, and sometimes it was just a few at the gear. We worked as porters and servers by day and by night sneaked out into the deserted dining car to make things with wires, strings, and circuits as the scenery sped by in the darkness.

Sometimes passengers joined us, and there were many times when by two or three in the morning the car was so packed with visitors that it was difficult to see from one side to the other. Some of their noise made it into the background: scribblers grinding down spiral bound notebooks, university students anxious to show off their newfound freedom, couples in various states of undress, old women drinking vodka from crystal flasks, your odd criminal on the run, more than a few people trying to forget something or someone, a foosball table salesman, backpackers, bikers, ex-ravers, burnouts, tweakers, peddlers, artists, motivational speakers, sets of twins, businessmen, and once a former senator who chain smoked in a corner and told stories about things he probably shouldnât have.

We played and recorded that way for months. No one found out. It was our secret. Listen. We made this for you.
