Ms. Tracey Lee â singer, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur-is a native of Inglewood, California. Tracey Lee (born Tracey Williams) is the product of a southern Baptist singing mother and a record-spinning disc jockey father that parted ways shortly after she was born. She grew up listening to greats such as: Marvin Gaye, Chaka Khan, Sade, En Vogue, Tony, Toni, Toneâ, Donnie Hathaway, Bob Marley, Prince, Rick James, Teena Marie and DeBarge. As a child of divorce- with a mother busy struggling to support her family and pursue a higher education- Ms. Tracey Lee spent many hours in solitude reading hundreds of Harlequin Romance novels, watching soap operas, fantasizing, and writing poetry that romanticized the life she was leading- or would lead in the future. Who knew that the little girl singing her heart out in the church choir, school plays, and local talent shows, would be the artist we know today as- Ms. Tracey Lee?

After graduating from high school, with little support for her love of music and poetry, Tracey Lee put her musical dreams on pause and attended Spelman College where she pursued a degree in Political Science intent on becoming a lawyer. However, music was always her first love. During, and after, college she continued to be a soloist and part-time choir director for her church choir. In 2002, she was invited to join a gospel group of dynamic singers- LA Unity. As a group, they were often invited to sing at churches and events all over, from Los Angeles County to Chicago. Traceyâs talent was soon recognized, and she quickly stepped into the limelight and became one of their featured soloists. It was during this time that Tracey Lee began to be exposed to the music industry and she gained the confidence to venture out and share her musical talents with others outside her circle. Two years after joining, the group disbanded and began working on separate projects.

Tracey Lee tried to find other outlets to express herself, musically, but could not find any that inspired the musical growth she sought. So she began singing background, and writing lyrics, for many local R&B artists in Los Angeles. Since then she has opened up for the legendary group, K.C. and JoJo (June 2005), as well as singer- Amerie (July 2005) at Long Beach's Vault 350. In the beginning of 2005, Tracey Lee began her own label- R Funk & B Soul Music. She wanted to establish a label that provides music that transcends all age barriers and is reminiscent of the âfeel goodâ music she grew up on that included R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz, and of course, Hip Hop.

As a songstress, with her sultry-seductive tone, Ms. Tracey Lee comes across the radio waves as smooth as a âSummer Breeze.â As a lyricist, her lyrics depict a maturity like in âPerfectâ and âLove Me for Meâ that comes from experiencing the perils of love lost, the pleasures of love gained, and the plight of the loveless. As a producer, Tracey Lee has a canny way of mixing different sounds and instruments that are sure to get the party started at any club like âWhoâs Flyâ and âHead Spin.â She has an ear for ârealâ music and tailors her work âfor the people.â

Her debut album Introducing Ms. Tracey Lee was released April 27, 2006 at a live performance where she opened for the legendary, Charlie Wilson, at the Key Club in Hollywood, CA. Tracey Leeâs singles such as âYour Loveâ and âPerfectâ are topping the charts on many Internet radio stations across the country (BroadJam, American Idol Underground, Area51UrbanRadio, Garage Band, IRadio, and various other stations). She mastered and re-released her debut album on September 16, 2006 at the House of Blues where she opened for Digital Underground.
