Momâs Home Cookinâ delights in uncovering the treasure of an old song long forgotten. Both women have a long history of individual experience as performers, and have entertained audiences of all ages and interests in a variety of venues. As Momâs Home Cookinâ, their repertoire includes hundreds of songs, from old time bluegrass to folk songs of the 1960's; from classic country gems to Victorian parlor songs; from a country blues tune from the 1920's to contemporary treasures by little-known songwriters. Their most recent CD release, âPot Luckâ, on their own Home Cooked Records label, follows their debut recording, âGive Me The Rosesâ, which garnered praise from listeners and the professional music community, and received airplay in several US cities and in Europe.
Performing on guitars, banjos, autoharp, and Appalachian dulcimer, as well a unique array of percussive gadgets, their eclectic style and exceptional vocal blend will warm the hearts of any audience. Their informal, humorous and personal style is down home and uplifting. The music of Momâs Home Cookinâ is comfort food for the soul and a welcome treat for the ears.
Monica Palmes Grabin
Guitar, Banjo, Autoharp, Vocals
Monicaâs performing career spans almost forty years, from the folk revival of the 1960's to presenting programs which teach history through music throughout New England. She is at home in diverse styles of music, ranging from rock & roll to Gilbert & Sullivan, and most things in between. The music which has always held her heart, though, is traditional and old-time American folk music. With clear, strong voice and an intriguing collection of instruments which she plays with skill, a charming wit and an uncanny knowledge of American music, Monicaâs performances are inviting and engaging for audiences of all ages.
Dale Robin Lockman
Guitar, Banjo, Appalachian Dulcimer, Vocals,
Dale Robin once took a job in a state in which she had never set foot, and knew not a soul (North Carolina), just to be closer to the music she loves. A longtime presenter and promoter of folk music concerts, Dale Robin has performed solo and in various groups and duos for over thirty years. Always on the lookout for a good song to âborrowâ, Dale Robinâs repertoire includes not only traditional songs, but also many contemporary ones, â a good number of these written by friends and acquaintances. Her rich, sweet voice and her easy rapport with audiences makes her performances a delight.
