This project celebrates the lives and heritage of my Irish kin near and far. I honor those closest to me:
my mother, Betty, my brothers, Kevin and Danny,
and my sisters Bridget, Sheila and Patsy. I also
honor the life of my father, now deceased, my âda,â
James Patrick Shannon.

In 1910, my grandmother Anna OâDonnell Shannon âcrossed the pondâ from Ireland to America. She never saw her family again. âHer Dungloeâ, on this CD is her story. Eighty-six years later I returned to Ireland for her. That is when I began gathering the songs on this collection. A long journey it has been. But, along the way Iâve discovered more about what it means to be an Irish-American.

For Anna and all those who left their loved ones behind: âcome ye back...welcome homeâ.
