Acoustic folk pop with flavors or country, blues, and rock
5 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Folk Pop, COUNTRY: Country Folk
Details:
after moving to the northwest from the big sky state, matt coughlin has began playing around seattleâs clubs and tacomaâs
dive bars of reputable fame. matt has opened both solo and with his band for martin sexton, the fabulous thunderbirds, christopher cross, curt kirkwood (the meat puppets),
and the eric mcfadden trio. much of the show is at the microphone, and is widely influenced. the soulful and introspective melodies marry with the gritty sounds of his guitar to create a blend of folk, rock, country, and
funk.
"it's about time" was recorded at hyalite studios in bozeman, mt. with producer and performer chris cunningham (storyhill). different than coughlin's first release, "let it go", this album focuses on instumental simplicity and deep harmonies with the voice. the songs have a stipped down, natural feel to them, with the exception of the dramatic and choral "rain on me".
