Details:
Rapp members Killer Bop, and Big Real formed Madd Flo in 1993. This group was formed with the influence of Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, Dougie Fresh, Slick Rick, Eric B and Rakim, KRS One, Egyptian Lover, NWA, Ice Cube, WC and The Madd Circle, 2 Pac, Biggie Smalls, West Side Connection, Jay Z, and everything within that era that was hot, and culturally correct with Rapp, and hip hop.
In 1995 Madd Flo had a recording deal with Motown Records, which never materialized due to a merging deal with PolyGram. After being released from their deal with Motown at the groups request Madd Flo continued on their journey working with Wendell Wellman from Whoâs Wendell Production, which never materialized fully.
It was during this time that Slink Capone the third member of the group joined Madd Flo to complete the sound that they have cultivated over the years. With each member comes a different style, a different charisma, a different sound, as well as a different perspective, which compliments each other when creating a song. Make no mistake about it this is what you would call street Rapp, or gangster Rapp but, from a grown mans perspective. It still deals with the grimy streets of L.A., crooked police officers, pimps, dope dealers, Bitches, and hoes, the hostility that lies in the ghetto, and the broken homes that go with it.
Madd flo represents the true hip-hop essence of the group but is just one side to the groupsâ gender of music, and for that reason they are recognized in the street as MF3. MF3 stands for Madd Flo, Murder Force, The Millennium Foundation. With Madd Flo describing the hip hop side of there style, & Murder Force describing the ghetto griminess that they have been subjected to in their lives together, and individually. The Millennium Foundation how ever is for the future.
The Millennium Foundation is a way that the group can give back to the community. The Millennium Foundation will be a non-profitable organization developed by the rappers to seek funds from the government, as well as the millions of successful rappers, and singers who make money from the same streets that need their help.
From 1994-2006 the group has performed in clubs like The Troubadour, The Key Club, House of Blues, The Viper Room, The Dragon Fly, Club Boardners, and Fais Dodo.
